we’re back with more game day wings! now if you tried and loved those lsu spicy butter cajun wings, then prepare to fall in love all over again🤣.
tomorrow the miami hurricanes go head to head with unc tarheels. so what a perfect time to for mojo orange pepper wings and nc barbecue wings.
though my blood runs orange and green til the day i die, carolina bbq is a new level of flavor.

ingredients
2-3 lbs chicken
oil for frying
mojo orange pepper
2 -3 tbs mojo seasoning
2 tbs fresh orange juice
2-3 oranges, zested
1 1/2 tbs black pepper
1 tbs salt
1/2 tbs thyme leaves
1/2 tbs garlic powder
1/2 tbs onion powder
1 c melted butter
carolina bbq
1 c ketchup
1 c brown sugar
1 c apple cider vinegar
2 tbs worcestershire sauce
1 tbs onion powder
1 tbs garlic powder
1 tbs black pepper
3 tsp chili flakes
1 tsp kosher salt
½ tsp dry mustard

instructions
chicken |
preheat oven to 350 degrees. line baking sheet with parchment paper.
season chicken with mojo seasoning and place on lined baking sheet and bake the wings for 20 minutes. | while the chicken bakes, prepare your sauces. |
meanwhile, fill a cast iron half way up with vegetable oil and to 350°. after 20 minutes, remove from oven and place into frying oil 3-4 minutes per side or until they are golden brown and crispy.
orange pepper seasoning |
using a zester or microplane, remove the peel from the oranges. to a bowl mix the orange half the zest, black pepper, salt, garlic and onion into a small bowl and set aside.
while the wings are cooking in the oven, in a sauce pan over medium heat add butter, orange juice, orange pepper seasoning, remaining zest, and black pepper. cook for 5-7 minutes and remove from heat.

add all ingredients a heavy saucepan, cook over medium heat.
bring to a boil and mix consistently so the sauce doesn’t burn. once sauce is boiling, take off the heat and let cool.
toss chicken in orange pepper sauce while hot. garinish with thyme and orange wedges. serve hot with blue cheese, not ranch.
